Holbrooks Community Association are excited to announce that we are currently recruiting a Development Officer
For 37 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 per annum
24 months fixed term contract in the first instance (with scope to extend dependent on funding)
Our well established community organisation is looking for a dynamic and proactive Development Officer . The role will include working with Holbrooks residents to develop community initiatives that meet their needs.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Working across both sites ensuring residents have access to services that will improve their social and emotional wellbeing.
• Working in partnerships with the third sector, Local Authority, and private sector to improve knowledge of the services offered and explore funding opportunities.
• Carrying out yearly community consultations to ensure we are delivering services that the community will access.
• Developing a steering group which will comprise of members of the community, partners and the Local Authority, the group will review this project and feedback to the management committees of both centres.
• To undertake and maintain the development and implementation of sound policies, procedures and practices to meet statutory requirements
• To undertake the quarterly monitoring and reporting of the project performance in accordance with the service delivery framework.
• Support the development and implementation of promotional and marketing activities
• To prepare monthly reports to the management committees highlighting usages, financial information, customer feedback, areas for improvement, user information and any further pertinent information.
• To liaise with partners and develop a seamless referral system is in place between organisations
• To attend and participate in the planning and delivery of events and related meetings such as training events or staff meetings.
• To engage in training, study and other appropriate courses approved by HCCA.
• Carry out any other duties commensurate to the grade of this post as required.
An ideal candidate will have:
• At least 3 years experience as a team leader/managerial worker in an organisation working with members of the community
• A working knowledge of developing projects/supervising colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal, including report writing.
• Excellent IT skills, including all Microsoft office packages
• Excellent organisational skills to enable plan, coordinate and evaluate events and activities
• Recognise and challenge behaviour and attitudes that discriminate against others
• Commitment to working in a participative, empowering and non-judgemental style with young people.
• Ability to work within a team and contribute effectively to the development of both centres.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and on own initiative.
• Ability to relate to, motivate and lead people.
• Ability and willingness to work up to a maximum of two evenings per week and occasional weekends.
• Experience of information, advice and guidance work with people.
• Experience of working in a community setting
• Evidence of formal training in relation to delivering advice within a work setting
